Steptoe1
(1983 items)
Hello I’ve just rediscovered this lovely antique ring , this was one of my finds from when I first started looking for items of interest. I’m trying to remember what this kind of silver work is called but can’t think of it. As this is only one I ever found.
Steptoe1, Beautiful.
The style of the work reminds me of Tibetan jewelry.
Thanks kera I was thinking granulation but it doesn’t sound right but it’s something similar if I remember right, I lent my book on Victorian jewellery to my sister years ago and never got it back or I would look it up, the stone is big most probably over 10ct.
Lovely ring...I have always called it granulated silver....it looks like a lovely big piece of lapis lazuli...
Thanks leesa I thought it was something like that, but it’s been years , I think it is early pre deco but maybe not Victorian, stone is massive, it’s a statement Ring
It is beautiful....I think the silver wire twisted parts would probably be called more filigree than anything else so I think its a nice combination of both techniques...would certainly be a statement ring on the hand....gorgeous.
