1968 Original Painting Of The Wind In The Willows By Pamela Sampson

Hello everyone!!
As I mentioned, in a previous post, I have many Wind In The Willows items in my collection. One of my most cherished items is this original painting of Ratty, Badger, Mole and Mr. Toad, by the very talented children's book author and illustrator Pamela Sampson. It's such an incredibly well done painting, as were all of her paintings. This one was painted in September 1968 on salvaged barnwood with acrylics, as most all of her painting were done, and is signed and dated by Pamela Sampson. This painting measures 18" long and 12" tall. I will always treasure this painting and was very sad to hear the news of Ms. Sampson's death when she passed early 2016.

Pamela Sampson was author and illustrator of several children's books and also was the illustrator for other children's book authors. I have a few of her books, two of which are signed by Pamela Sampson. She developed glaucoma and eventually passed away in early 2016. But, she will always be remembered for her wonderful books, illustrations and paintings and will always be greatly missed. Such a talented author, illustrator and artist.
