Imagine waking up to this sweet gift Christmas 1948 :o Retail priced at $47.50, not likely unless your folks were doing pretty good. It came with 19 reels from The Seven more Wonders of the World series , but cooler, it has the catalog page with a last Rev November, 1948. Andthe bulb works :) Pulled from a Goodwill bin. What do you think???
    Jealous???

PhilDMorris, I went on line to find a checklist before I found one in the box :)
      But, in the store,
Someone had grabbed a couple reels and put the projector back. I grabbed it up and walked to my cart. As he saw me and the regret hit him. "I think that's a score" he said and gave me the few reels he had bothered to look up, and walked off

This thing probably gets hot enough to fry an egg on! I have a similar one. I wonder if LED replacement bulbs are made? I will have to dig mine out and see. I also have a projector that was used to project images of regular photographs on the wall. It is made out of Bakelite and also gets dangerously hot. Will have to dig that one out and see if I can get a replacement LED bulb for it..... Might also have an attachment for projecting negatives and slides. A vague memory of that.... Thanks for jogging my memory about these projectors!

Yes, I am jealous! What are you going to do with them? Resell, watch or pass on to share joy with one less fortunate for instance, like me!!!

MishMasher, The will likely sell eventually. I have a 60's viewfinder and a couple dozen reels in a box somewhere I will pair it up with.
I rescued this from a Goodwill, so they are still out there :)

kwqd, I once woke to a house full of smoke when my sister used her easybake oven as a nightlight and it melted :o EASY :)

Yikes! I wonder how many house fires were caused by the variety of things that used incandescent bulbs..... I have a Dresden bedside lamp that was basically unusable because the glass shade got so hot it was guaranteed to give you a burn if you brushed against it. I recently found LED equivalent bulbs for it and it is suddenly useful and safe.

You were certainly blessed that day when you discovered this. I remember my mother had some reels and some were bought when she went to Niagara Falls for the honeymoon in the early 50`s. I love history so I treasure seeing your awesome find over and over !!
