This jar is a very dense blue, somewhat sloppy in the application of the design, but a very high shine in the glaze. Stands 4 1/4" without the lid, about 5 1/8th " with it on. Lid seems a bit big, and glaze different, so maybe not original to the jar. Haven't a clue about anything else yet. There is a fine crackling of the glaze, don't know if age related or deliberately applied. My best guess is 20th century , later half? All input appreciated!

Lovely blue & white ginger jar, that deep cobalt blue is a great color

Thanks for the love everyone! Newfld, I agree, it is an intense blue! You should have seen it before I washed it, I had no idea it had such a deep shine under the grime, it looked almost matte when I got it!

why is this dogwood ?? someone lost the Brittanica, but does, not matter

no kilnpitting , no ruptures , no double ring on the reverse bottom ring

an other escape is the 4 character marker kangxi nian zhi mark , but it hard to see

something strange has happened they used an crackle glase even within the blossoms , also on the bottom

terracing ( they isolated the segments on the types of blue , to give it genuine idea, which probably is bogus

bit sloppy overpaint , let,s call it affordable stuff, i, don,t know precisely it is an hodgepodge ?

      greetings waki

Thanks Waki! I was given this one, was thrown in with a planter I picked up at an estate sale, the dogwood was just me quoting someone's similar post on ebay, I will do better research going forward! I think it's nothing, but the color and glaze are beautiful to my eyes, so that's a plus, I guess! Am currently trying to get my hands on a potentially good piece, will post if I can make it happen. New year greetings, faith.

I immediately noticed there are no dogwood blossoms here. Dogwood blossoms have only 4 petals.
