This post is for Bernard, in response to his recent post of a super pair of Victorian shell shaped vases.
The vase pictured here was in my collection from around 2000 until 2015, when it was sold along with a lot of other glass, some of which, like this one, I now regret letting go. Anyway, even though the decor on my former vase is quite different to the ones Bernard posted, the same basic scallop shell shape can be seen. The feet are leafy on this one, also different to Bernard's example. But I still think it may be by the same maker. That shell shape is pretty unusual.
While I was trawling back through old photos I haven't looked at in ages to find the shell vase, I also stumbled on various other items that I sold off during my great clearance of 2015 - 2016.
I mean, just look at this trio of Bohemian Art Nouveau vases. This is exactly where my collecting interests are focused today, & if any of these turned up for sale, I would be throwing my money at them. All of these would have been flea market finds from the early 2000s. They all had a bit of damage here & there, but still displayed well. I hope the current owners are enjoying them, & if not, please list them on eBay & I'll buy them all back! :-)

Hi Marin, thanks for the photo of the shell vase, can you remember if the top was ground off for the opening like mine?
I think we all have regrets of things we sold. That is the major problem I find when selling off the bulk of my earlier collecting, you open up a box of twenty items and go oh that's nice oh I can't sell that and end up with 2 to move on :)
yep those 3 in the last photo are very nice :(

No worries! Yes, even though I don't have any more detail photos of this vase, I can recall that the top on this was ground just like yours, & that was another point of similarity.
Yes, regrets, we've all had them about stuff we've let go, I guess. Your perspective can definitely change over time, too. I think the Art Nouveau vases were sort of ahead of my time in terms of collecting. Things like that used to be so cheap & easy to find twenty odd years ago. There was a super flea market near me that I went to every weekend, & I was spoiled for choice. I've been back a couple of times last year, but it's not the same post Covid era. A lot of the old dealers are gone & the stuff just isn't as interesting...now I sound old & grumpy, don't I! :-)
