Wood Carved Bear Head
Approximately 6 1/2" x 5" x 5"
I was out shopping today for a birthday gift for my sister..and struggling not to buy anything for me. But I couldn't pass up this wood carved bear head. Pictures don't do it justice, because you can't see and appreciate the while image at once.
When I got it home it was dirty and not looking great. I used some mineral spirits to clean it. Then hit it with some Howard's restor-a-finish and finally bees wax.
The bottom has a flat spot near the back and there was a hole. It may have been attached to a base or something else? I fabricated a custom rod to prop the head at a level position. Without this, it just rolls to one side.
what a cute little bugger !!
Cool bear head & beautifully carved, love the eyes
Excellent find Dave!! You did a great job cleaning this bear head carving.
impressive, so realistic, you can almost feel the rough skin
Thank you all for the comments. It helps reassure me that it is a cool piece.
