Ernst Steinwald

Another example of the production of the Ernst Steinwald & Co. glassworks. I have the decor working named ESC D 83 (perhaps these are two similar decors). This is a shape that is in Tomschick's books from October 1938 to 1940. Steinwald's mold number is 31079 and Tomschick's shape number is 07400. This shape was produced in nine sizes (from 4 to 8 1/2"). My vases measure 22 x 14.5 cm and 21.8 x 14.5 cm). Both are marked CZCECHO SLOVAKIA - two words below each other. This marking practically excludes that it could be for the production of the Tomschick glassworks, which acquired these forms after the Steinwald glassworks closed down. The period of production was approx. 1936 - 1938.
