I posted this rose bowl here several years ago as being Bohemian, from the Art Nouveau period. I said then I had reason to doubt it was Kralik. However it was always shelved among my Kralik rose bowls as I had no other category for it. This week Craig Orkney published his research findings on a new Welz décor which he named 'Ripple'. And so my rose bowl now has an identity. Thank you, Craig.
I particularly like this décor as it chimes with my belief that Welz probably made every type of glass there is! Here the glass is both translucent and iridescent.
Diameter 11.5 cm. / 4.5 inches
So beautiful!
great iridiscence.... nice to know it is Welz
Where is it possible to read the latest Welz 'Ripple' research please?
Currently, the research is only published in my Welz group on facebook.
I love the colour of irisation!.
Thank you Iwona. Thank you also to those who commented and also all who 'loved' this post.
I think it a good moment to say I post less here because I have so little energy these days due to a glandular condition. Thus I struggle to reply to comments which is ill mannered. It's not life threatening but after three years I get up tired. I MAY get treated soon.
