    I'm hoping to find out about this piece. I found it while thrifting today in Maine. It measures 4 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" wide.
    I'm not sure what it is made from, how old it might be and what significance it may hold?

      well it is made from coins it is likely a feng shui which is a home protecter . let,s say a charm

      the period of the currency most be a knowbrainer , have to loke for the japanese also , because the symbols intertwine partly

      to me Tongbao' = 'circulating treasure' and means 'coin' is unkown i ran the qing dynasty

      this is probably an feng shui for the blessing prosperity
