Westmoreland Glass #185 Vase, a pedestal, in Light Blue Slag Glass. The basic pattern was originally created by Boston & Sandwich Glass and was used in Whale Oil Lamps. The #185 Vases and Lamps seem to have been made, only in 1955, I haven't found any other year for these.

    9 1/2" Tall

    Thanks for looking.

That's some color there.. by the way, love the avatar picture..is that an MC Escher piece?

Thanks for the color comment. The vase grows on you. Especially when you realize it's similarity to other B & S glass. I can see why it struck me, based on it's design history, and it's very nice w the color. ..... and yes to the Escher picture. I like the process of creating art like that... probably drove him nuts. His works involving Staircases and Waterfalls, are the benchmarks for perpetual art. The devil is in the details.

The positive/negative images are sone of my favorites. There's one with birds that appear to be flying both ways over some farmland..I always admired that one.

Thanks for the link. I added some of those to the Escher file.
