Hello everyone!!
You may have seen the vintage Hubley monkey doorstop that I recently posted. Well, here's the same design, in the form of a lamp, that was also made by Hubley in the 1930's. This one is porcelain enameled, which is extremely rare. Most I've seen are either unpainted or painted in the same way as the doorstop version. This one is also a three piece design assembled with two screws, just like the doorstop version.
This came to me as the monkey and base only. So I made the lamp portion myself, which was fairly easy considering I already had most everything I needed to make it. The lamp shade is made from dried banana leaves. As with the doorstop version, this one measures 8 7/8" tall, the base measures 8” long and 8 1/2” wide and the lamp measures a total of 21" tall. The lamp weighs 9lbs 5oz!
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!

The shade looks great with it. Is that the original shade?
Dave,
Thanks!! No, I had the shade and just thought it would be perfect for this monkey.
