Hello I’ve just come across this box from the pass which has a sticker which explains perfectly what it is, it’s American and looks great maybe someone on here knows more as well.

The man who invented this laser process is John A Macken and he also applied for a patent for it.
John is a physicist and inventor who worked with lasers in the aerospace industry until he started his own company in 1969. Using his patents involving lasers and optics, he started Lasercraft Inc., Optical Engineering Inc., and Macken Instruments Inc.

Great bit of extra information m.p is he still alive, are they still making things. It’s a really nice thing when you look at it carefully, I didn’t really take it in before, not sure what it would be for, a desk or dressing table.
