This was a cool find in a local op shop today! I was walking past & saw a Victorian era oil lamp in the window (no, I didn't buy that, as I already have one & they take up a lot of space. Also, it was quite expensive!) & I thought to myself, maybe there's something else old & interesting inside that came in the same lot of donated items.
So, there it was, this super piece of very old Bohemian glass, waiting for a new owner. I didn't yet have any of this type of cased & cut glass, so it was a must have!
I guess it would have once had a stopper of some sort. It was either a rather large scent/cologne bottle, or a small decanter. It's also very heavy for its size.
It measures 15 cm tall, 7 cm across the five petal shaped top rim, & 11 cm across the base. Made from three layers of glass, cobalt blue over white, with a clear interior, it features three rows of cut back "windows" & lavish, if slightly worn, gilt decoration. Interesting to note that on the base, there is what looks like a small letter "J" on the polished out pontil. I wonder if it was intended as a signature, or just a random bit of glass left uncut?
I guess that this is of Bohemian manufacture, perhaps mid 19th century.

Interesting, Marin. Have you considered that it may be an unusual example of what is often called 'Cut to Clear'? More commonly 'the clear' is translucent pink, blue or green with a white outer layer. But yours actually is clear! Love it, great find!

      Many thanks, Peggy!
I was pretty thrilled to find this, even if it is missing a stopper. I haven't seen much of this type of glass at all in person, & it looks to be quite old. The cutting of the windows is rather fancy, too!
