Hello I’ve just rediscovered this lovely old plate, I can’t remember who it’s by but thinking it’s English although I did think it was Chinese, but someone in the past did tell me, maybe Wedgwood, it’s Victorian if I remember right.
looks simple to me it is awful difficult this is handcoloroud ironstone in the so called chinese pattern
this is IMO from the united kingdan ,must be quite early
on the reveverse looks like a date ,( it shut outs all chinese ware ,well there are a lotchinese ,but the english make this complete ( signed - countersigned)
the tiny beehive + the red tonalitiy of the so called smiley reverse enhances the chances of being old more likely Victorian then Edwarding
IMO it don,t has a mandatory WEDGewood, because a lot of factories made this stuff
checked the C marking , actually no help
It is something you stated, BEcause my possible is very far fetch which is an H and STaffonshire , wither the marking
so i stick to you opinion well done
Hi thanks apostata, I’m looking at this again and I’m thinking I did once find something like this that was American, I’m wondering if it’s this as I haven’t come across anything else yet.
well most of the time we go no proper chanceto assess this right ,worldwild there are an awfull lot factories who made stuff like this, it is bulk ware
