Hello I’ve just rediscovered this and can’t recall seeing it on here, I’m wondering how old it is, guessing it’s post war, looks fairly old, I thinking of using this, I wonder what it was for, never paid any attention to it before, but it’s growing on me.

well at the right under part of the mark is a sort of KITE , which always makes it new
and the sequence of the charaterss are new, they are written in the ZUO DAO YOU pinyin the changed the sequence left to right

it reads ZHONGGUO ZHI ZAO, which means CHINA MADE

this is very late release ( during ands after the so called thecup mark ( picture of a teacup at the reverse+ characters, so it is highly unlikely to be made before 1975

this is a trinket let,s say cute but only for decoration purposes and export, formally they mostly were used for ZHU BAO ( jewellry ),and mostly for the QIGAI ZHU BAO ( freely translated as poor people jewellry)

they are also ( not so common used for exchange )as gifts, in traditations and then
you might get an social antroposophical problem concerning gifts

The receiving person may refuse the gift at first or even up many times) It is part of the custom for Chinese to do so as they consider themselves not worthy of the gift. However, do not withdraw the gift as your persistent trying will persuade the Chinese into accepting your gift

So what actually could happened , you have TO COVER, which is to reciprocate, so i swapped a so called WINNOWING KANGI PLATE versus an Colenbrander vase ,

at the end it all ends well
