I found this at the thrift shop today. A five petaled shaped box made of papier mache and painted a dark glossy black with a very nice gilding over the surface. It appears to have a 'Qilin' or 'Kirin' in the center of the box, which i hear is also called a Chinese Unicorn, but i've seen it on Japanese and Korean items as well.
