I've mentioned this phenomenon before, how you get a feeling that you must go into a certain shop. Well, it happened to me again this week with a local antiques shop that I hadn't dropped into for a few months. Waiting for me was this truly outstanding Rindskopf vase!
Yes, I admit I've become pretty obsessed with Rindskopf in recent times, & looking at this impressive specimen it's easy to see why.
It measures 31 cm tall, 5.5 cm across the top rim, & 9 cm across the base.
Made from dark purple glass with white marbling, it has a super intense iridescent finish that is highlighted by the bulbous, twisted form.
Bohemian origin, circa 1900.
That is absolutely gorgeous! Super great find!
Fabulous colour! You have some really neat shops around where you live Marin I'm quite jealous :)
Many thanks, DejaVu2!
Thanks also, Bernard!
Yes, I'm pretty lucky with the shops, virtually every town in the Mountains has an antiques shop or two, plus a similar ratio of op shops to boot. You know where to head if you get over the ditch in future!
