I purchased this carved gourd about 10 years ago at an antiques mall. It was not accompanied by any information but in spite of my limited expertise it appears to be native American or simply Southwest. It measures about 7 in maximum and the patent a suggests some age. I have tried without luck to identify the artist so hopefully a viewer will recognize if not the artist, The style and likely age. Welcome any and all comments.
