This is something I picked up at the Memorial Day yard sales up here. The Memorial Day yard sales are huge and the antique dealers come up here to shop. Stay along south side where the older cabins are. The north side are newer homes and they don't have the vintage stuff.
I can't find information on this so I don't have a huge amount to say about it. Got it for my basement which is always cold in winter.
Here are the basics, it is very heavy about 30 pounds. The dimensions are 18" high x 16" wide x 5 1/2" deep.
As for how it works the circular section is an intake and the heat comes out the top. I can't hear a fan but I think there is one. There are 2 on off switches. One turns on the heat and the other does something else maybe.

Hard to make out, but the writing at the bottom front looks like, Thermador Electrical Mfg. Co. Might also say where it wss made. Better images might help.

Wow, when I first saw it I thought it was a cracker of a toaster, so unusual !~

Gotta feeling that this is not going to be that energy efficient and also a fire/shock hazard. While Super-Kool, and oil filled radiator heater would probably be a better choice for heating your basement!

It would be nice to see it cleaned up, restored and working, though!

Found some close but not exact types of this heater/fan from Thermador. Not sure of the years but maybe 1930s? I think one switch is for heating the coil(s) and the other switch is for the fan, so this could be used as a heater or as a fan.

This should restored and preserved, IMHO.

Thank you very much kwqd. I am going to take it apart and that should help. The heater element is working and I'll see if there is a fan and if it is working. In the meantime I will try another image search and see what that comes up in.

And thank you very much Phil.
