Mom's Collection: Spring Snow Kyoto Maruyama Japan 1936 by Tsuchiya Koitsu, (1870 - 1949.) Block print on paper.
Curiously, (and fortunately), the large water stain on the back is not well pronounced on the front. Oban yoko-e (27 x 39.3 mm)
The snow laden branches and various other aspects have a raised texture or edge similar to hand painted but without brush strokes. It's more pronounced (or 3D) compared to the other block prints and art in mom's collection.
Question - Is this a real block print, a modern reproduction, or other? TBD.
    Thank you - favoriteson

The artist is Tsuchiya Koitsu. The publisher is Doi. The title of the print is "Rain at Horyuji Temple", 1938. There's no real "story" to these prints (called "shin hanga" or "new prints"), they just depict a pretty or quaint scene. The writing in the margin on the right gives the title and the date, in the left margin is the seal of the publisher (Doi), and the printer and carver seal ( in this case, carver - Harada printer-Yokoi). THIS IS ASIAN ART FORUM, you do the kanji and asses self , because i mix everything , too exhausted
