This is my collection of vintage school arithmetic books from the 40s to the early 60s. Although I love these books, I still hate arithmetic, and the memory of trying to learn long division still makes me cringe!

Good grief, these books bring back memories.......good ones for me, though. I have always enjoyed math!

i was almost expelled from my exam arithmetics , because i was a student at a very rigid catholic gymnasium , i wanted to enter the exam room and i was not proper dressed , ( flipflops , T shirt don,t squeeze africans -outspan oranges bermuda shorts etc ) so i did mij exam in dungarees which i borrowed from the gardener of the school

years later there was an reunion of the school , and the intention was to thank the school for the proper education

so he asked me did you deserve an seat on the right site of God , i answered no just an stool in the local honky tonk, he was not amused i think
