The Chrysler products from this time period tended to have these paint schemes with these stripes and such. Looks like the Dodge Dart had grown up a bit. The original was more of a compact car. This one looks like it is to compete with the Chevelle and GTO. Sporty but not quite so much as the Mustang, Camaro and Barracuda..
The 340 refers to the engine size.
It has been a long day and I need to wrap this one up.
