Here's another of my finds from the antiques fair - a super pair of Tango glass vases in a very rare & unusual shade of mauve!
I would have been happy with one of these at the price, but wow, I really scored!
They are made from opaque mauve glass with cobalt blue applied coils & strutted feet, measuring 17 cm tall.
As can be seen, the mauve colour is difficult to photograph accurately - outdoors made for a better result. Indoors they came up grey to the camera, while appearing mauve to the eye.
I recall Peggy having a similar issue with her example of this colour Tango glass.
Whether mauve, grey, or greyish - mauve, I love this colour & was thrilled to get my own specimens!
Czech origin, 1920s - 1930s era.
Gorgeous color
Wonderful !!!!
Congrats! Subtle colour and yours brings the number I've seen up to four, I think.
Super find! Congrats!
Many thanks, Bromar!
Thanks also, Kevin!
Much appreciated, Peggy! Thought you would enjoy these...as I have long admired your example. I did have this shape in a strange dull blue/grey plus another one of the "cauldron" shape minus the coil, both from op shops & both hastily sold, so these made a sort of redemption...
Many thanks, kwqd!
