1940s Jennings Radio Type X Capacitor
    Jennings Radio Mfg. Co.
    Type X -peanut 5 mmfd
    ( MMFD (micromicrofarads))
    17,000 peak Volts, 20 Amps

Well this is pretty cool! My sister is a big uranium collector. She lives next door and is always buying me stuff and drove me to all my eye appointments this year. So I found this online and bought it for her. Not something she would collect, but I thought it would be a cool surprise. It reminds me of Dad and all his electronics.

I wrapped it up and when she opened it she said, "ohh cool a vacumn tube..". Then she realized it was uranium and was pleasantly surprised. Then she hit it with some UV and it lit up super bright and was really impressed!

I had never seen one like this..normally only a small part on each end is uranium. This style the whole glass glows strong. I immediately grabbed some scrap wood & copper strapping and made a small stand for it.

    CAPACITOR CONFUSION
" In devices like radios and TVs, capacitors help smooth out voltage changes, ensuring we get clear signals without sudden interruptions."

A capacitor is a circuit component that temporarily stores electrical energy for short-term use. This can be useful in electronic devices that need a burst of energy, like the flash in a camera.

"A capacitor can take a shorter time than a battery to charge up and it can release all the energy very quickly."

    TYPE X
"The X capacitor can suppress differential mode interference and play a role in power supply filtering."
