Hello everyone!!
I sort of felt like I'd won the lottery when I came across this incredible piece. It's a late 1800's Austrian cold painted bronze pheasant. He's quite large and in pristine condition. He was sold to me, for less than $150, as a large metal rooster bird. But, I knew right away what I had found. The seller stated that it was unmarked. However, upon close examination, it's clearly marked AUSTRIA on the bottom. He's beautifully colored and just a spectacular example of the artistic design and craftsmanship of that period. The details of this pheasant are just incredible!! As you can see, he's quite large and measures 23" long and 10" tall. He weighs more than 8lbs.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look at my large bronze pheasant!!
Scott

Kevin,
Thank you!!
Phil,
Thank you so very much! He's one of my best Austrian pieces and we have him proudly displayed in our dining room.
fortapache,
Thanks very much for the striking comment!!!
Jenni,
Many thanks!! He does have some spectacular coloring. Most of these have experienced a tremendous amount of paint loss. So, I feel very fortunate to have found this one in it's original state!!
