Hi everyone!!
Since I just posted my "Double Scotties" boot scraper, I thought I'd go ahead and post this extremely rare cast iron Dachshund boot scraper. Some have told me that this one was made by Chicago Foundry, but I'm in doubt of that since the initials on the steel plate appear to be a G * F and not C * F. It's the only cast iron boot scraper I've seen mounted on a steel plate. I would date this one back to very early 1900's , possibly late 1800's.
He's by far the largest and heaviest of all my boot scrapers measuring 19 1/2 long, 8" tall and 7" wide. The steel plate he's mounted on measures 18 1/2" long and 8 1/2" wide. The entire boot scraper weighs in at 50lbs!!!
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!

Oh he's a beautiful dachshund, very elegant in the shiny black. Incredible 50 lb weight, wow!

This piece is awesome and one of my favorite breeds of dog!
DejaVu,
Thanks very much!! My favorite breed as well, next to German Shepherds. We have a 7 year old Longhair Dachshund named Carly and our best and sweetest dog is my 6 year old German Shepherd, named Rosie.
