    1970s IMCO Gunlite G66-R Lighter
    Circa: 1973
    Model: Gunlite G-66-R
    Manufactured: IMCO Austria

Thus was in my xmas stocking. Unfortunately my sister lost my "tactical" stocking. At first glance I thought it was just a cool cap gun. But I quickly realized it was a lighter and the company has quite the history

You can see the lighter cones apart into 3 pieces. The main body, the tank and a spring that pushes the flint(no flint in it).

This model was based on an earlier design the 6900 lighter. After the G-66-R model came a G-68-R model.

    IN THE BEGINNING
In 1907, Julius Franz Meister founded the Julian Meister Co. (JMCO/IMCO) in Vienna. The company originally started out as a button and metal goods company.

    WORLD WAR I
Bernhard Silberknopf became a company partner during 1911 and the factory began manufacturing lighters. Their first model "Imko Feuerzeug" was patented in 1920. Several models were produced the same year using these patents.

The company produced many lighters and filed several patents over the years. It changed hands several times, even manufacturing lighters in New York for a period.

I'll add the links to the history in the comments..
