    Hello,
Could anyone tell if this sign is a fake (replica) or a real Coke sign. Recently bought on a market in Italy.
    Thank you
    Marco

Welcome to CW. The image is very different than what I've seen. Thus is what's really bugging me.. it appears to say reg US. Pat..instead of U.S. ? You have the piece..is it missing the . ?

Ok..let's look at some obvious stuff..

"Coca Cola buttons were produced for over roughly a 15-year period starting in 1947. If they're not dated, it's reasonable just to consider them to be 1950s era."

"A 1920 law required all trademark owners to use the terminology "Registered in the U. S. Patent Office" as the trademark notification with their logos. Coca-Cola chose to use the abbreviated form "Reg. U. S. Pat. Off." and placed it in the tail of the C—the same location as the previous notification."

The condition of the piece for assumed age is suspect. Font is strange, image is strange and lack of proper patent markings is suspect.

Now..I AM NOT A COCA COLA EXPERT..I'm just using common sense.

Dav2no1 I guess you’re right. No ‘.’ after the ‘U’. Must be a fake. I’ll keep it anyway for it’s still good looking (and I paid too much for it)????

Unfortunately there's tons of fake pieces made. But if you like it, enjoy it.
