Here's a fun Austrian bronze candlestick lamp base that I added a shade to. The pair remind me of an pheasant sitting in an apple orchard, of which I have both here where I live. The base has no markings I can see, other than a retailer sticker from Brooks & Son, Goldsmiths, Edinburgh.
The shade is an unknown Loetz piece that has ivory base glass. The top half of the shade has large silver spots over moss green threads pinched together irregularly. The bottom half of the shade has moss green threads pulled into irregular drips over honey brown speckles .
The interior is silver. The bottom rim has 8 ruffles and the top rim is well ground and polished. Size 5 .25" x 5" with 2.25" rim dia.
Absolutely beautiful from shade to base, love it
Thanks Newfld!
I love my shade like this one - you would never know the dots are red until you light them up!
And the green becomes yellow, first glance I thought it was 2 different shades but the same shape. It's quite neat how they change :)
Thanks Warren, thank BHIFOS! Yes, it puts on quite a show when lit up. I am glad to have found a base to show it off with.
What a delight. I love shades from this period and they don't come better than this.
Thanks sklo42! So glad you enjoy it!
