Or is it the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum? Anyway this is a snail shell sized geode which is colorful inside and out. Right now it is sitting with some of my other rocks and bottles on a windowsill. It is all quite nice but is quite the dust collector so every few years I clean them off.

      Y'all. };-)

Yeah, I thought it was a jelly doughnut, too.

Or maybe it's that "Ich bin ein Berliner."

      A little mood music:

He Ate Too Many Jelly Donuts

      Thank you very much Vynil.

Thank you very much Toyrebel. It does look tasty.

      Thank you very much BHIFOs.

Thank you very much Iron Lace with a visit to the dentist.

Thank you very much Phil and it does.

Thank you very much keramikos. Perhaps a berliner.

      fortapache, You're welcome.

Poor JFK had to find out that there's a significant difference between "Ich bin Berliner," and "Ich bin ein Berliner."

The citizens of Berlin did think it was funny, but they knew what he meant.

That little Elvis satire ditty was popular, but short-lived, because of the timing:

I was 23 years old and driving a milk truck for Turner Dairies in Memphis. My route took me right past Graceland some days.

My memory may be faulty, so take this for what it's worth. Elvis was overweight at the time and was being teased in the media about it. There was a story in the Commercial Appeal saying Elvis had been spotted at a Dunkin Donuts just down Elvis Presley Boulevard around 3 am buying 4 dozen jelly donuts. Supposedly, this was Rick Dees inspiration for this song. The first time I heard it I was driving and had to pull over. I was laughing so hard.

A few weeks later, Elvis died.
You never heard this song again. You never even heard anyone MENTION this song. Memphis was in mourning.

It doesn't seem that funny anymore.

      Poor Elvis.

I love me some jelly donuts, but no way could I eat four dozen.
