Hello everyone!!
In continuation of my vintage cap gun collection is this early 1950's Roy Rogers holster and pistols. The holster is beautifully decorated with solid brass studs. The bullets are made of wood. The Roy Rogers and Trigger belt buckle was once gold in color, but sadly about 90% of the gold color has worn off over the past 75 years. Also, the left holster is missing, but I've been searching for one and have yet to find one. However, I have high hopes that one day I'll find one.
The pistols are rare Hubley Cowboy revolvers in the gold color with black steer head grips. A lot of the gold color has worn off over the past 75 years, but they're still really nice and fully operable cap pistols. The chambers have permanent fake bullets and the chambers rotate when the triggers are pulled. The pistols are 12" long and have a nice heft to them to make them feel life-like. All the pistols needed was a good cleaning and a bit of lubricant. This is one of my favorite sets that I have in my collection. I have many of my cap pistol sets in shadowboxes to preserve them. As you can see in pic #4, this set is also in a shadowbox.
Thanks very much for taking time to stop in for a look!!
