Peter's paperweights are highly sought after here and overseas.
I found this one in a second hand antiques and collectibles shop for a very good price and it is one of his larger ones.
Interestingly it has a flat window (2nd oicture) ground into the side which shows how small the interior is compared to looking through the magnifying round sides.
engraved "Viesnik 05 New Zealand"
110mm high and 85mm wide
I like it and all the color. I also like the Cut window, which as you said, without magnification, really shows the interior and how it really is. There is a lot less in the middle of a round paperweight, than most might think. Signed by the artist, very nice.
Almost like a jack in the pulpit flower, wowser !~
Nice at first glance i thought it was a Peter Raoas , well i , got a lot to learn , nice well done
both Peters used to share a workshop in the early days and no doubt still see each other so not surprising they each have put out similar pieces.
