Picked this up at an auction yesterday. If you look closely you'll see that the original impression stamped "Stop" is visible thru the fading red & white painted "Stop". The original yellow and black paint is still visible near the edges of the sign.

That's pretty cool, I think it was a city stop sign, but then needed to paint it red for the new transportation law regarding stop signs needed to be red. Very nice piece.

I have a yellow one. Could I ask what you paid for it?

It was grouped with a pile of other stuff, might have been about $25 for all of it.

Great deal on a great sign! Someone had one of these stamped signs with the same 'STOP' typeface that had a new engineer-grade/reflective label applied to it. Pretty cool and a neat story.

      Thanks for sharing!
