http://www.japancollection.com/ Utagawa Yoshiiku is the artist Heros of the Taihei Era Taiheiki Elyu-den he was a student of Utagawa Kuniyoshi, I was told from Japan
Congratulations on the identification.
The signature is "Ikkeisai Yoshiiku" .
He seems to have had quite a few different names that he signed.
There is a photo and details of him here:

Wikipedia has three differing versions of his signatures.

Yours is the one in the centre: Ikkeisai Yoshiiku.
I think that the title it is in the middle of the book's first page and then on each page. It's in the red gourd shaped device to the top right in the pictures on this page. taiheiki eiyuden = ??? ???
I'm not sure if CW does Japanese characters!
The first three characters are taiheiki.
It is called in English "Heroes from the Chronicles of the Taiheiki"
Date: 1867, 4th Month
Publisher: Hiroya Kosuke ?????
If you google "taiheiki Yoshiiku" you'll get lots of info.
(Leave out Utagawa, because it confuses the search engine with Utagawa Kuniyoshi's book of the same name.)
These are very beautiful. I think these are part of the Taiheiki Eiyu Den by Yoshiiku as part of a compilation of stories about the 50 most famous Samurai in Japans history
This book sold at Christie's for $4,800 (with all 100 portraits, not 50) in 1993.
