Being Saturday I went to garage sales and estate sales. Found two Catholic rosaries at this one estate sale. The relatives of this persons estate sale had these two rosaries priced at a dollar each. I am not a Catholic but considering the price? This one does not seem as old as the turquoise stone one, it is carved stone, bone or ivory marked Italy. Ice cold to the touch. Not sure of the value of rosaries but the family of the estate did not seem to want them? One dollar each?
I love unusual crucifixes -- I think you got a couple of beautiful pieces at your estate sales, papa!
Thanks, got a last super picture there too. Huge, framed and matted 2 x 4 feet. I have seen little last super pictures but never one that takes up a whole wall. Do not think the relatives of this persons estate sale were very religious; they used the F word in almost every sentence and did not like each other much.
Natural materials carved to mimic the pikake flower are common to Hawaii, I think. Search 'carved pikake' and 'pikake lei' and you'll fine a shape similar to the beads used here, which are most likely some kind of bone (if you haven't already, given that the rosary was posted years ago).
