Due to the military mind set during WWII the idea of military dog tags was adopted by private companies for their employees. Illustrated here are two examples. Both are poor quality scans so here is a brief description. The top line is a serial number and letter F or M for the person’s gender. The next three lines are the name and address. The bottom line is the company name. If the employee joined the military, the branch of service and service number is the bottom line. The back side of the tags for those who were in service are red while all others are a golden color on both sides. These tags may also have doubled as credit cards but I can not confirm this. If anyone can add to this please do so.
