This circa 1902 image features a Doctor displaying the tools of his trade.
On the table are an early stethoscope and an elaborate brass microscope. I really like the casual display of the human skull with a hat on it!
Additionally, behind the doc is an old print or painting of a similar scene-- a skull on a book with a stethoscope.
The image is identified on the back to a doctor in Texas.

Very cool. I wonder what the framed cut out thing is on the wall?
Thanks cogito. The framed cut outs are actually photographs of men. Maybe some sort of fraternal or professional organization where he had membership.

My photo is mounted to thicker cardstock-- typical mounting of the period.
I hate to give advice on your family albums, but Iknow what I'd to if they were mine. I would organize in a way that best preserves the original integrity of the item. I wouldn't feel bad about getting rid of mount pages missing the photographs or clippings since they don't add to the story.
Also as you reorganize, I wouldn't do anything that cannot be reversed (no glue or acetate). If you have particular photos that you want to frame, make a copy and put it in the appropriate place in the album with an annotation on the original being framed.

Glad to help-- good luck with the project.
Cleaning them up will help to preserve them and future generations will see them as something that was cherished and meant to be saved.
