    Continuing my Scandinavian glass craze...
This is a Littala Serving bowl, Ultima Thule. Designed by Tapio Wirkkala circa 1968. It is suppose to resemble ice crystals or melting snow/ice.
    7 3/8 inches wide and 3 3/8 inches tall.
I found this pretty a couple of weeks ago at the thrift. Someone had "hid" it behind all the plastic. This is not the first treasure I have found buried from sight. Hee hee!

Scandinavian, I see it spelled both ways here. I debated which way to go when typed this up. I thought I but see it refered to as L. I will rely on your expertise and go with the I from here on. ;)

You will have to sneak across a few states to get here, just stick to the speed limit and you will probably be OK. I will leave it on the porch, so you can just pick it up.

Bellin and Scandi, found a matching desert bowl for 60 cents at the thrift today! Does this count toward our "snowball" challenge?

Ultima Thule means "the furthest kingdom": the geographical region believed by ancient geographers to be the northernmost land in the inhabited world.

Head north! Perhaps even further than Wisconsin?

Vetraio, it is way, WAY too cold to go to Minnesota right now. Besides, I would have to pass through Packer territory. It is difficult to blend in there right now...I don't own a snowmobile and am afraid to try cheese curds.
I'd much rather come visit you this time of year V!

Call in Superman and head for the Fortress of Solitude, his Ultima Thule!
Mind you, you'd be welcome down here too!
