    Early 20th century European Arts & Crafts / Secessionist design oak bookcase cabinet of likely Continental origin/manufacture. Decorative leaded-glass panels, sliding entry doors with dual locks, back splash crest, open side rails, and chamfered post legs raised on castered feet. Dimensions: 57.5”x35.7”x13.5”

    I would appreciate any attribution information or suggestions for this piece.

      Thanks to you both. It came out of a Chevy Chase, MD. auction house sale this time last year. Maddeningly it has no identifiable markings. The beveled glass inserts remind me of the stylized female figures in Koloman Moser's 1902 13th Exhibition poster for the Wiener Secession (see here: http://www.moma.org/collection/object.php?object_id=133907).

      It really is a fine piece of furniture, but very different to any Moser furniture I've ever seen... those have bolder designs. Still, a most lovely bookcase! :)

      I certainly wasn't attributing the case to Moser; just that the beveled glass design looked like his 13th exhibition poster. I wish I had a Moser original...but that would require my winning the lottery! ;)

      Couldn't it be Scottish? I saw some cabinets made by E A Taylor for Wylie and Lochhead and immediately thought of this one...
