I"ve had this tray for a few years now.
It came from the Surry Hills market one Saturday morning.
Unfortunately there is no mark. That suggests pre-1910?
I'd be pleased to have any comments or suggestions about its origin.
I've kept it as I found it.
It has an Egyptian feel too it as well:
a) a lotus flower?
b) a raven, an owl
c) the eye of Horus
Man thanks BELLIN68!
looks pretty arts@crafts to me... and I'd say absolutely pre-1910s to me...
It's a great piece!
My Guess is that it is German or Austrain . the design reminds me of work by Albin Muller or Freidrich Alder ,for WMF
Definately a secessionist crumb tray
Many thanks BELLIN68, austrohungaro and my mate marty too!
I think you are pretty on target with the date. Probably a crumb tray. I am sure your butler and foot men will appreciate it as well. (ok, too much Downton Abbey)
Thanks AmberRose from Jeeves and the Team!
This pattern not shown in either WMF 1906 catalogue or Lasseters 1902 or 1911
Thanks for checking it out Marty!
Many thanks jojomang!
Hahahaha!
mmm... doesn't look very Austrian to me, maybe Dutch or Scandinavian?
The Dutch idea is an interesting one, too! Thanks marty, austrohungaro and AmberRose!
Hi Kev et al... check out this collection

Thanks for the great link, Marty. Like Austrohungaro I suspect this piece is of farther North origin than Germany or Austria.
Thanks Marty for the great link!
And thank you too for your input as well cogito and austrohungaro.
