Some 20 years ago I received an antique floor lamp with a mica shade from my father as a gift. The lamp part of it still works. It seems to have a lighter that you can pull out to light a cigar/pipe/cigarette. It's very heavy. Recently, I went online and to antique and lamp shops trying to find out more about it but with little success. Someone told me she thought it was called a smoker's lamp. I have attached a few photos of it. Any help or guidance in learning more about the lamp's history and value would be most appreciated. Can't wait until the smoke clears on this antique.

    Cordially,

    Arline

Hi there...I have the exact same lamp and have been highly unsuccessful in garnering info. have you found a maker's mark even? all i know about mine is that it came from a wealthy woman's estate. outside of paying for a sotheby's expert, I'm stumped. please let me know if you find out any tidbits. thanks,
p.s. mine has the ashtray cup insert, but not the lighter cap.

I was given my grandfather's lamp yesterday. It is the same lamp. Mica shade has cracks and breaks and I am going to have it repaired. Any suggestions? On the underside of the very bottom is "1000" in fairly large letters. My grandfather always referred to the lighter as a "cigar" lighter. The lighter is rimmed in wood.

Hello, I was stunned to find three people with similar lamps. My lamp, though not identical to this, is definitely the same animal. Mine has a metal shade and stands approx. four and a half feet tall. It is all brass and has three simulated electric candles. As for the smoking station, it has a cigarette cup with cap, the pull out corded "salt shaker" lighter and an ash tray. I acquired this piece when my Father passed some years ago. The story is that it belonged to my Great Grand Father ( who passed before I was born...1959) who lived in Martin, Tenn...I remember it as a young boy in my Great Grandmothers house 50 years ago. My father had it in his office and plugged in 12 years ago and it worked fine (at that time...I don't have the nerve to plug it in.). It has no marks or identification that I can see. Thanks for listening and it's great to know there are more of us out here. Please let me know if you've found out more about your lamps...Michael
