My between the wars bayonet/knife with leather scabbard. Scabbard is marked A.R.E.T 1940. Bayonet is marked on one side 1927 other side CGNUTT 1940. Have not found what either set of letters mean. Bayonet is Italian. Both the knife and scabbard is in good cond. I may have the rifle this goes on. If so, will post it later. Enjoy and glad to share.

This is a Model 1891 Carcano Bayonet for the 6.5mm Carcano rifle, which was used in both WWI and WWII. This particular bayonet was made in 1940 by the firm of C. Gnutti, of Brescia Italy, which made bayonets and swords for the Italian Army since the 1800s. The scabbard was made in 1940 by A.R.E.T., which may stand for Arsenale Regio Esercito Torino, but that's guesswork. 1927 stamped on the cross guard is a rack number or serial number. Hope this helps.
