The friend I traded with to get this vase referred to it as his "tomato" vase, and I can see why! Although there is heavy purple iridisation on the outside, the glass underneath is as red as the ripest tomato! The floral enamels are just beautiful, and the quality of the piece is evident. Al has great taste!

    UPDATE!
Thanks to the newly released book From Neuwelt to the Whole World/300 Years of Harrach Glass, edited by Jan Mergl, I can now positively confirm the Harrach attribution. The last photo shows a scan from the book of a cameo piece in the same form, indicating that the form dates to 1896, Prod. Nr. 1720/5.

      A beautiful vase!
The "tomato vase" name is good not only for the "colour" but also for the "shape".
I'm reminded of the "heirloom tomatoes" whose shape makes them unfit for supermarket shelves and for fast food outlets.
There are many varieties that were popular in and around "Czechoslovakia"?
A Black Krim? or Black Crimea has the shape and the colour of this vase.
I Australia we have only limited varieties of heirlooms.
I look at this page and drool:
