I don't know if I have been staring at Austro's collection too much or just on a thrift high this week, but I picked up this mystery piece. No markings. Heavy! Has that internal bubble look, but if you look at the last picture, it is sort of inwardly turned. Anyone have ideas? I am getting a bit blind with my research and everything is looking the same. Thanks!
I believe this one is by Krosno.
Be careful and don't leave it for too long on the top!
It should sit on the wide surface as in photo 3.
It is often put upside down, because people want it to be a vase for a bunch of flowers; rather it is for one flower only: a solifleur.
I've always liked this one!
Hi V, I was starting to turn my search to Krosno! Guess I have her upside down. I kept wondering why the bottom was so elaborate.
Thank you for your giant brain V.
Hope you are doing well. It is still too cold here and tomorrow I am heading north for a meeting. Up into Bellin/Manikin's part of the world.
I still love this. Found something similar the other day and thought about this piece, your "mystery solifleur", true story :)....did you ever find out who it is made by? Mine is a bit more rounded, with controlled bubbles...pictures soon. Still love it, love the style...
Hi Rhonda, pretty sure it's Krosnos. Will look out for yours!
Hey Amber, *I shoulda had a V8* moment...There is a sticker on mine that says "Made in Poland", lol....I did a little research and yup mine was there - looked for yours...similar shapes but all of the Poland pieces have controlled bubbles...
i see these oillamps quite often
