I have a liking for Poole pottery. I see links to Dutch faience ware. But in the 1950's there were influences coming from Scandinavia as well. I can see Stig Lindberg in some of the leaf trays. I especially like the designs of Alfred Burgess Read who was appointed chief designer at Poole in 1951. I have a few of his "Contemporary" pieces. This little dish is in a pattern called Ariadne. It was bought on ebay a couple of years ago.
I like miniature pieces!
It is 7cm (2.75") in diameter and 3.5 cm (1.4") high.
The design works well on this tiny bowl as well as on any of the larger pieces. The shape is marked with an impressed "299". The pattern is "OS" and the painter on this piece is Diane Holloway who worked there from 1952-58. It is painted in Terracotta and Glacier Blue on an Alpine White glaze with a two-tone pink interior.

The good just keeps on coming. Another great piece V!
I did post some much more humble pieces that I think you'll enjoy.
Ok, for some reason this piece reminds me of a really good vanilla ice cream...
