Here is a closer look at one of the estate sale books I posted earlier today.
This is titled “Lightning ~ The History of The 78th Infantry Division”, edited by The Division Historical Association, Washington Infantry Journal Press.
This book is a 1st Edition, March 1947.
This is the history of the 78th Infantry Division in World War II.
There are Unit Awards, Units Attached to the 78th Infantry Division, Command Posts of the 78th Infantry Division, Attachments to Higher Headquarters, a list of Cities & Towns Captured by The 78th Infantry Division from 13 December 1944 to May 1945.
Lists of Honor Roll members, Medal of Honor winners, Distinguished Service Cross winners, Distinguished Service Medal winners, Silver Star winners, Legion of Merit winners, Bronze Star winners, Purple Heart Winners, and Foreign Decorations.
This is a very interesting book, 301 pages, a well spent $1.50.
enjoy.

Packrat,
You have some great things posted, and I see that you collect old records.
I volunteer at a thrift shop every Saturday and am always coming across interesting records. If I find something I think you'd like I'll pick it up for you,( or put a hold on it until I know for sure if you're interested ).
Thanks for all of the wonderful things you share on here,
Tony.
How can one put a price on something so dear, but $1.50 is a great place to start!
Budek, thank you so very much for the nice comments. I have collected records for over 40 years, My record collection was in the 1000's at one time. I have since sold most of my records due to downsizing. I am down to about 600 78's. I am still always on the lookout for rare records. This might help explain why:http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_most_valuable_record_albums
My email address in my "about me" section. 78's are really what I am looking for, Doo-Wop, Rock-A-Billy, 50's rock, and especially blues 78's. Just let me know.
mrmajestic1, yes I agree with you, what a lucky find, and thank you for visiting.

I was wandering if this is the same example of the book I posted it the other day. It was my grandfathers. It starts from training camp and goes through the end of the war. Also has a list of the fallen and missing soldiers. Its almost like an amazing walk through. I think I want to get my hands on some other Divisions.
Nice find.
Thank you very much jmack
