It still has the box. Nice piece. I would think anyone that wanted to play or just for display would be wonderful. It is truly a piece of American History!!

      Hey,
I just picked up a guitar zither #3.It looks like it was made by F.Menzenhauer.Patented May 29th 1894.It came complete with a wooden case and tuner. It is in great shape with only one broken string. It's black in color with a golden and bronze looking wreath around the sound hole with a emblem that states Menzenhauer and the patented date on the upper left hand side.It looks like that it may be pretty old but I'm not sure. Can you tell me how old that it is and what it may be worth?
      Thank you.....

Sorry....It also has two music books and a wire looking stand.Looks like that it is complete.
      Thanks again

Hey Timothy! I have no idea what these are worth. I did have the original music too but I think my sister has misplaced it and still hoping she will come across it! Inside the hole there is information on mine. What I have found out is that they used to go door to door selling these for maybe children that might want to learn to play an instrument and the parent would buy. Kinda like they do at the grade schools now. If you find a price I would be interested in knowing too. If I find out I will let you know!!!! Good Luck!!!
