I am trying to find out a little bit of info in regards to these shakers.
I have looked on the web and can't seem to find a name or pictures of any similar items.
Any help or suggestions would be great.

Highly collectible is mostly what I can tell you. I'd offer you $5.00 each??? Early "Negro" art is a highly collectible art form even in Salt & Pepper Shakers, dough weights, etc. These look like "Mammy & Chef Salt & Pepper Shakers" and may have been made in Japan.
No emails of the era terminology, I'm German/Polish, I heard many too. Here's what I am, with no hyphen, I'm an American.
I have a set of the salt and pepper shakers, but I don't have a smaller one like yours, is he a shaker too? Are they are from Japan?
The smaller one is a shaker as well.
Does not say Japan on the bottom but does say hand painted.
I am thinking of puting these on ebay to sell.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I have a set similar to yours. Mine are mark McCoy.. not made in Japan
these aren't the typical mammy and chef shakers. i have never seen these kind before...i'd suggest googling black americana salt pepper shakers and devoting some time to sifting through the results.

I have a set exactly like yours, but not the little one. The chef has a sticker on the bottom made in Thames Japan, hand painted. They were given to my parents sometime in the 1940's. I don't remember when exactly. Several years ago, I saw a set exactly like these in an antique shop up in Maine with a price tag of around $130.00. Don't know if they sold for that though.
Black americana is what they go by on ebay now... I have some up right now. You pretty much have to say "Black Americana" thats what folks are searchin for. They are not that high buck anymore, market is flooded...
I have this set, but also without the little guy, It was my grandmother's and she got them in the 40's. This set is in great shape! Super cute :)
