One of my favorite plaid patterns is this red, black and yellow-striped look (which I was reminded of by musikchoo's Bo Diddley album post - http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/54514-bo-diddley-second-l-p).

Bo's loud and flashy jacket is a little bit of prom nite and a whole lot of rock 'n roll...

The wool tie, made by Thistledown in Scotland is a true Wallace tartan, while the shirt is more like a MacQueen Modern tartan. Both of these remind me of the red & black buffalo plaid popular in the 50s, 80s, and again with a recent resurgence just a few years ago.

I really love the plaid over plaid, matchy-matchy look of this tie & shirt in combo.
