Love the new photos too! I'm still looking around for info..
Thanks! I did a pretty intensive search to find the designer, the only person who stood out was Sarpaneva, but his work is all signed apparently. Its not marked ANYWHERE. Does the design ring any bells with you Vertraio?
I still think Pentti, but no decisive info yet.
I have placed a pendant of the same designer I believe. Please take a look.
I have seen the same design of necklace in Photos in Line and they say Hannu Ikonen. The finish designs like this, by known artist is betting more and popular here in scandinavia again. It is dramatic and beatuful and has the naturespirit touch that we like.
I ment to write getting not betting. Sorry.
Yes, those are the two names that you find associated with this Finnish bronze jewery, but all I could ever find by Ikonen was the "reindeer moss" pieces. Sarpaneva did some pieces that have this sort of structure, but I'm really not sure which one designed it.
If you search the Web with 'hannu ikonen valo koru' you can look at Photos and there is a bracelet in the same design. The company he worked with? Valo-koru has a website, just search their name. Under information you see how to Contact them. An email with a Photo and a question, might solve it for you. Hope you find an answer.
And by the way, I've red his pieces are marked that they are made in Finland, not with hos name. There are photos of the stamp on the Valo-koru website, but the stamp might have changed over time.
I think you're right, it is an Ikonen piece in the series "Rainy Days" apparently. This one isn't marked anywhere though. Thank you Elisabeth, nice sleuthing!
Thanks! Enjoy your beautiful necklace.
Hello Stillwater! After having red some of your cement I feel that you have a lot of knowledge. If you feel like it I would be most grateful if you had a look at my mexican necklace. Any ideas? Love Elisabeth
My phone wrote cement when I write coment :-)
Yes I saw the cement and figured it was an autocorrect, lol. I'll take a look for ya
Yes, it's hard to write in a different language and being autocorrected by a phone that wants you to fail in public :-). Thanks again for your help!
No problem. That's a fantastic necklace, regardless of who made it. May I ask what you paid? I could tell you if you got a deal or not
Sorry, Stillwater I just noticed your question. I paid 760 SEK and that is today 85,86 EUR / 118,70 USD. I bought it last month. This is scary, to hear the judgement... :-). If I paid too much I will have to comfort myself in the fact that I'm a befinner in mexican silver...But on the other hand I love this necklace so....
Want to add that the marken for mexican isn't hot where I live. I just saw something that makes me wonder. Have your eye caught the ebay....
I ment to write market
Yeah you got a good deal, sounds like you got it for about scrap value
I would have paid twice that, to resell even
Thanks, nice to know. I felt that the person who sold it knew even less than I didn't ;-). I would have sold it on a more international market. You didn't answer if you' ve noticed the piece on ebay here? Ballesteros necklace... It looks like if it's made by the same hand, I look at it as a whole and in details, the lock etc. What should I think of mine? I' ve also - after a lot of searching - found a bracelet in the same design that has the AA and eagle mark. It was said to be 1950ies. I can't say why but it feels right, that dating that you also said. Thankyou for taking an interest in this, it's very educational for me.
